Green Iguana

iguana iguana
Care Level: Moderate

The green iguana is one of the most commonly kept lizards in captivity due to their large size, calm temperaments and bright colors. Native to Central and South America, green iguanas have been kept in captivity for decades. Because they are inexpensive to buy and can be found in almost any pet store, it is a common misconception that iguanas are an easy pet to keep. Their proper diet, heat and space requirements can make keeping a green iguana a demanding task. However if these requirements can be met, an iguana can make a wonderful companion for many years.

Sugar Glider

Petaurus breviceps
Care Level: Moderate-Difficult

In the world of exotic pets, sugar gliders are still fairly new. Their popularity sky-rocketed in the early 90's, and there seems to be no slowing these little guys down. Cute, cuddly, and very intelligent, sugar gliders make wonderful pets for young and old. Even though they might look like rodents, sugar gliders require very special care that is completely different from your standard hamster or gerbil.
